Listing guidelines
To keep Search IT useful and trustworthy, every listing must follow these rules. Listings that break them are not approved, or are removed.
- Real businesses only. The business must exist and serve customers. You must own it or be authorised to list it.
- Accurate information. The name, address, phone number, hours and prices must be correct and kept up to date.
- Use the real business name. Don't add keywords, locations or slogans to the name.
- One listing per location. Don't create duplicate listings for the same business at the same address.
- Your own photos. Upload only photos you own or have permission to use. No stock photos presented as your premises.
- Honest descriptions. No false claims, fake awards or misleading prices. Don't write reviews or testimonials into your description.
- No prohibited businesses. We do not accept listings for illegal products or services, weapons, adult services, gambling where it is illegal, counterfeit goods, unlicensed medical or financial services, or anything that promotes hate or violence.
- Regulated professions. Doctors, lawyers, financial advisers and similar professionals must hold the licence required where they practise, and may be asked for their registration number.
- No spam. No keyword stuffing, hidden text, or links to unrelated websites.
- Respect reviews. Don't post reviews of your own business or competitors, and don't offer incentives for reviews.
We may edit listings to fix formatting or obvious errors, and we may ask for proof at any time.
